LU’s 10-Day Fest Features Sports, Dance & Skit Competitions

Lucknow: Under the inspiration and guidance of Honorable Vice-Chancellor Professor Alok Kumar Rai, the second day of the Inter-Hostel Competition Fest – 2025 was held on February 20, 2025, at various hostels, including Nivedita Girls’ Hostel, Lal Bahadur Shastri Hostel, Tilak Hostel, and A.P. Sen Hall.

Exciting Badminton Matches

Chief Provost Professor Anup Kumar Singh stated that the badminton competition was held at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hostel. In the singles badminton final, Mahmudabad Hall and Balrampur Hall secured their places, while in the doubles final, Mahmudabad Hall advanced along with Habibullah Hall.

Quiz and JAM Competitions for Female Participants

A quiz and JAM competition for female hostel residents took place at Nivedita Girls’ Hostel. B.R. Ambedkar Hostel won first place in the quiz competition, while Tilak Hall and Nivedita Hall secured second and third places, respectively. During the event at Tilak Hall, Professor Durgesh Srivastava and Professor D.K. Singh were honored as Guests of Honor.

In the JAM competition, Abhilipsa from Kailash Hall secured first place, Ila Mishra from Nivedita Hall came second, and Nancy from Tilak Hall ranked third.

Competitions for Male Participants

A.P. Sen Hall hosted various competitions for male hostel residents. The event featured Professor Rakesh Dwivedi, Proctor of Lucknow University, as the Guest of Honor. RJ Prateek and Dr. Ranjana Dwivedi served as judges. In the mimicry competition, Kautilya Hall secured first place, Habibullah Hall second place, and Mahmudabad Hall third place.

Presence of Distinguished Guests

Several distinguished guests attended the event, including Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Manuka Khanna, Dean of Student Welfare Professor V.K. Sharma, Chief Proctor Professor O.P. Shukla, Professor Alka Kumari, Professor Babita Jaiswal, Dr. Rajeshwar Yadav, Dr. Bharti Rai, Dr. Archana Singh, and Dr. Anupama Srivastava.

Upcoming Events

Dean of Student Welfare Professor V.K. Sharma announced that various indoor and outdoor competitions will be held throughout the 10-day Inter-Hostel Competition Fest.

On the third day, a cricket competition for male students will take place at the university’s second campus. Additionally, solo and group dance performances, as well as skit competitions, will be held at Vishwakarma Auditorium, while a kabaddi match for female students is also scheduled.

Lucknow University’s annual fest continues to serve as a vital platform for students to showcase their athletic, artistic, and intellectual skills.
